9th Annual Pond Hockey Classic

Powdered sugar coats the peaks of the divide, temps are steadily dropping here in Grand Lake, and we are less than a week from regular season puck drop. All signs point to the 9th annual Grand Lake Pond Hockey Classic!

Dates are set:

Saturday, January 31, 2026 - Adult Tourney

Sunday, February 1, 2026 - Youth Tourney

Registration will be early this year (11/1 instead of 12/1) for a very special reason....

Thanks to the indefatigable efforts of some special local residents, Grand County, this winter, for the first time, ever, will.....have.....our own high school hockey team!!!! So the GLPHC will donate ALL proceeds to help the high school team get up and running, as well as help direct resources to the local youth hockey program. To facilitate this, registration will open on November 1st so funds can be utilized in time for the start of the hockey season. This also means that half of the registration fee will be immediately NON-REFUNDABLE.

Also keep in mind that last year registration sold out in one minute. The number of teams is capped by the limitations with machinery and manpower. So get your teams together and be ready to register at 9am on 11/1!

Adult Tournament: Saturday, January 31st, 2026

The adult pond hockey tournament kicks off at 9:00am on Saturday, featuring fast-paced 3vs3 games that will run until sundown. Teams will battle it out on the ice for $500 prizes for each division winner and top bragging rights by day’s end. Spectators are invited to join the fun, with plenty of space for kids and dogs to enjoy an amazing day of hockey!

Youth Tournament: Sunday, February 1st, 2026

The youth pond hockey tournament kicks off at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, with 3vs3 games throughout the day. Young players ages 9 to 17 will hit the ice to compete in four divisions, giving their all in each matchup. Funds raised during this tournament go toward supporting the Fraser Valley Hockey Association.
